In India the Engineering Degree is referred as
- B E (Bachelors of Engineering), B. Tech. (Bachelors of Technology) and B.Arch(Bachelor of Architecture) at undergraduate level. Whereas as Masters level it is M Tech (Masters of Technology),
- M. E. (Master of Engineering) and M.Arch(Master of Architecture). At undergraduate level the duration of course is 4 - 5 Years. Whereas at Master's level the duration is usually between 2 – 3 years.
There are other courses like BCA (Bachelors in Computer Application), MCA (Masters in Computer Application), B.Sc. IT (bachelor of Science - Information Technology) and M.Sc. IT (Master of Science - Information Technology). The graduates from these courses are also referred to as Engineers in the Industry, specially the Software Industry, but the Engineer's degree is M. Tech, M.E., M.Sc. (Engg.), M.Sc. (Tech.), B.Tech, B.E. and B.Arch.
Also after completion of Section A & B Exam of The Institution of Civil Engineers (India), Ludhiana Punjab is equivalent qualification to Civil Engineering Degree as per Govt of India circular Issued by Ministry of HRD, Association of Indian Universities (AIU)etc.
Also after completion of Section A & B Exam of Institution of Mechanical Engineers (India), It is equivalent qualification to Mechanical Engineering Degree as per Govt of India circular.
