Career

Willis got her first big break presenting MTV UK in 2002 before presentinv various other shows including guest hosting for shows such as CD:UK. In 2007 Willis presented the spin off series I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! NOW! alongside her husband before both departing in 2008. In 2010 it was confirmed that Willis would replace Melinda Messenger on Channel 5 series Live From Studio Five, however after just only 2 months presenting the series Willis announced she would be departing the series to co present Big Brother's Little Brother and was therefore replaced by Jayne Middlemiss.

In 2009 Willis was announced as the new co presenter on Big Brother's Little Brother alongside George Lamb, Willis was a huge hit with viewers and therefore Willis presented the final 2010 series without Lamb. In 2011 it was confirmed that Willis would be returning to the revived series. Willis currently presents spin off show Big Brothers Bit On The Side. In 2012 fans made a Facebook account to campaign to make Willis the main presenter on Big Brother and to replace Dowling, Willis has been compared in the media to a young Davina McCall. On 3 September 2012 it was confirmed that Willis would become a permanent presenter on This Morning, Willis later confirmed this saying "Working with Philip Schofield, Holly Willoughby, Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford has been nothing but a pleasure, so knowing I will officially be part of the family from October is really exciting. I can't wait to get cracking.".

On 13 March 2013 it was reported that Brian Dowling would be axed from Big Brother and be replaced by Willis with a source saying "Brian has been a great host but Emma is seen by channel chiefs as a true successor to Davina. They're talking to her now about taking over the role from the summer," a source said. Like Davina when she hosted the show, Emma's young, a mum of two, and very glamorous. The audience love her on BBBOTS, and execs want to capitalise on that. She's thinking it over, but it's a great opportunity and she would be mad to turn it down".

Famous quotes containing the word career:

It is a great many years since at the outset of my career I had to think seriously what life had to offer that was worth having. I came to the conclusion that the chief good for me was freedom to learn, think, and say what I pleased, when I pleased. I have acted on that conviction... and though strongly, and perhaps wisely, warned that I should probably come to grief, I am entirely satisfied with the results of the line of action I have adopted.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–95)

I seemed intent on making it as difficult for myself as possible to pursue my “male” career goal. I not only procrastinated endlessly, submitting my medical school application at the very last minute, but continued to crave a conventional female role even as I moved ahead with my “male” pursuits.
    Margaret S. Mahler (1897–1985)

“Never hug and kiss your children! Mother love may make your children’s infancy unhappy and prevent them from pursuing a career or getting married!” That’s total hogwash, of course. But it shows on extreme example of what state-of-the-art “scientific” parenting was supposed to be in early twentieth-century America. After all, that was the heyday of efficiency experts, time-and-motion studies, and the like.
    Lawrence Kutner (20th century)
