Present College Building
On 30 June 1979, the building was amalgamated with the nearby expanding Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT). Today, it remains a part of the RMIT City campus, and has been refurbished to house the RMIT Graduate School of Business.
The building is registered as "significant" and a "notable building" with the Victorian Heritage Register and the National Trust of Australia.

Famous quotes containing the words present, college and/or building:
“The reverence for the deeds of our ancestors is a treacherous sentiment. Their merit was not to reverence the old, but to honor the present moment; and we falsely make them excuses of the very habit which they hated and defied.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“Mrs. Pilletti: This girl is a college graduate.
Catherine: Theyre the worst. College girls are one step from the street, I tell you.”
—Paddy Chayefsky (19231981)
“People do not know the natural infirmity of their mind: it does nothing but ferret and quest, and keeps incessantly whirling around, building up and becoming entangled in its own work, like our silkworms, and is suffocated in it: a mouse in a pitch barrel.”
—Michel de Montaigne (15331592)
