Remarks
The term Diapause is also used to refer to the temporary, partial, or complete metabolic suspension in various life stages of insects and plants. This can cause problems in terminology. Delayed implantation or embryonic diapause is a specific type of diapause which developed independently of other instances of the phenomenon. A uterus is required for implantation; therefore, the terms "delayed implantation" and "embryonic diapause" may only be used in describing the phenomenon in mammals.

Famous quotes containing the word remarks:
“I begin, then, with some remarks about the meaning of a word. I think many persons now see all or part of what I shall say: but not all do, and there is a tendency to forget, or to get it slightly wrong. In so far as I am merely flogging the converted, I apologize to them.”
—J.L. (John Langshaw)
“Where do whites fit in the New Africa? Nowhere, Im inclined to say ... and I do believe that it is true that even the gentlest and most westernised Africans would like the emotional idea of the continent entirely without the complication of the presence of the white man for a generation or two. But nowhere, as an answer for us whites, is in the same category as remarks like Whats the use of living? in the face of the threat of atomic radiation. We are living; we are in Africa.”
—Nadine Gordimer (b. 1923)
“There are remarks that sow and remarks that reap.”
—Ludwig Wittgenstein (18891951)
