Official Release
This special has never been released on VHS or DVD, and Presley's estate has issued a statement saying that they have "no plans" to release the special, due to the fact that Elvis was visibly "far from his best in the way he looked and the way he performed."
Footage from this special has appeared in the home video market: "Are You Lonesome Tonight", "Love Me" and "My Way" were used in 1981's "This Is Elvis", and "Unchained Melody appeared in the 1990 home video release, "The Great Performances, Volume One: Center Stage".

Famous quotes containing the words official and/or release:
“In a country where offices are created solely for the benefit of the people no one man has any more intrinsic right to official station than another.”
—Andrew Jackson (1767–1845)
“We read poetry because the poets, like ourselves, have been haunted by the inescapable tyranny of time and death; have suffered the pain of loss, and the more wearing, continuous pain of frustration and failure; and have had moods of unlooked-for release and peace. They have known and watched in themselves and others.”
—Elizabeth Drew (1887–1965)
