Elora Danan - Character Plot

Character Plot

Fearful of a prophecy that a girl would be born who would bring about her downfall, the evil Queen Bavmorda imprisoned all pregnant women in the realm. Elora was born in prison and identified as the prophesied one by a birthmark on her arm. Queen Bavmorda wanted to kill her at birth, but her mother convinced a nursemaid to smuggle the infant out. Both mother and nursemaid died to keep her safe.

After the nursemaid's death, Elora was found by a young Nelwyn farmer named Willow Ufgood (Warwick Davis), who initially wanted nothing to do with her but later embraced his role as her protector and attempts to take her to Tir Asleen. The queen's efforts to destroy Elora Danan, preventing the prophecy, led to Queen Bavmorda's fall. Afterward, Willow leaves the baby in caring arms of Madmartigan and Sorsha, the new queen.

Famous quotes containing the words character and/or plot:

If there be no nobility of descent in a nation, all the more indispensable is it that there should be nobility of ascent—a character in them that bear rule, so fine and high and pure, that as men come within the circle of its influence, they involuntarily pay homage to that which is the one pre-eminent distinction, the Royalty of Virtue.
    Henry Codman Potter (1835–1908)

The westward march has stopped, upon the final plains of the Pacific; and now the plot thickens ... with the change, the pause, the settlement, our people draw into closer groups, stand face to face, to know each other and be known.
    Woodrow Wilson (1856–1924)
