Fight Song

The director of marching band obtained official copies of and permission to perform the Florida State Seminoles' War Chant. This song is used as a fight song for the school–especially during sporting events–and is often accompanied by the waving of a tomahawk or rigid arm (to signify the war axe).

Famous quotes containing the words fight and/or song:

And oh, I knew, I knew,
And said out loud, I couldn’t bide the smother
And heat so close in; but the thought of all
The woods and town on fire by me, and all
The town turned out to fight for me that held me.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)

Christianity only hopes. It has hung its harp on the willows, and cannot sing a song in a strange land. It has dreamed a sad dream, and does not yet welcome the morning with joy. The mother tells her falsehoods to her child, but, thank heaven, the child does not grow up in its parent’s shadow. Our mother’s faith has not grown with her experience. Her experience has been too much for her. The lesson of life was too hard for her to learn.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
