Famous quotes containing the words clare and/or prophet:

I never saw so sweet a face
    As that I stood before:
My heart has left its dwelling-place
    And can return no more.
    —John Clare (1793–1864)

Happiness does not await us all. One needn’t be a prophet to say that there will be more grief and pain than serenity and money. That is why we must hang on to one another.
    Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860–1904)
