Eliezer Ben Samuel

Eliezer ben Samuel of Metz (died 1175) was a Tosafist and the author of the halachic work Sefer Yereim (Vilna 1892). An abridgment of this work was produced by Benjamin ben Abraham Anaw.

Famous quotes containing the words ben and/or samuel:

    For of fortunes sharp adversitee
The worst kynde of infortune is this,
A man to han ben in prosperitee,
And it remembren, whan it passed is.
    Geoffrey Chaucer (1340–1400)

Each writer is born with a repertory company in his head. Shakespeare has perhaps 20 players, and Tennessee Williams has about 5, and Samuel Beckett one—and maybe a clone of that one. I have 10 or so, and that’s a lot. As you get older, you become more skillful at casting them.
    Gore Vidal (b. 1925)
