The Electoral (Amendment) (No. 2) Act 1998 (No. 19/1998) is a law of the Republic of Ireland which provided for parliamentary constituencies for the 29th Dáil Éireann. The 29th Dáil was elected at the 2002 general election on 17 May 2002 and was dissolved on 29 April 2007.
This Act replaced the Electoral (Amendment) Act 1995 (No. 21/1995), which defined the constituencies used for the 28th Dáil (1997–2002). It was itself replaced by the Electoral (Amendment) Act 2005 (No. 16/2005), which created a new pattern of constituencies when the 29th Dáil was dissolved.

Famous quotes containing the words electoral and/or act:
“Power is action; the electoral principle is discussion. No political action is possible when discussion is permanently established.”
—Honoré De Balzac (17991850)
“Idealism sees the world in God. It beholds the whole circle of persons and things, of actions and events, of country and religion, not as painfully accumulated, atom after atom, act after act, in an aged creeping Past, but as one vast picture, which God paints on the instant eternity, for the contemplation of the soul.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
