The video department, headed by Mr. Sill, contains three classes, Introduction to Video, Advanced Media Broadcasting and Digital Film Production. What makes El Diamante's video department unique is the fact that students have access to equipment which is more advanced than most other schools in the Central Valley. One of the most accomplished work to date is a partnership video with Friday Night Live, a program dedicated to reducing the number of deaths and injuries caused by teen motorists driving under the influence of alcohol and other drugs. The concept of the video is primarily aimed towards Alcopops. (Alcohol that resembles beverages of soda pop and lemonade.) The Video consists of student interviews, student-ran research about Alcopops, and two reporters, Nikki Bautista and Kayla Jacobo, narrating the video. The video was presented to the State of California Senate in San Diego and to raise taxes on these specific Alcopops. Students create a bi-weekly television show, and do many projects outside of class, including work for the Tulare County Board of Supervisors, Proteus, and other organizations.

Famous quotes containing the words video and/or department:
“It is among the ranks of school-age children, those six- to twelve-year-olds who once avidly filled their free moments with childhood play, that the greatest change is evident. In the place of traditional, sometimes ancient childhood games that were still popular a generation ago, in the place of fantasy and make- believe play . . . todays children have substituted television viewing and, most recently, video games.”
—Marie Winn (20th century)
“... the Department of Justice is committed to asking one central question of everything we do: What is the right thing to do? Now that can produce debate, and I want it to be spirited debate. I want the lawyers of America to be able to call me and tell me: Janet, have you lost your mind?”
—Janet Wood Reno (b. 1938)
