Ed Palubinskas - Other Experience

Other Experience

Along with his valuable coaching experience at every level, Ed has served as a shooting consultant for the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA and the Australian Women's Olympic Team which won the gold medal the next year (2006).

In addition, he founded the Palubinskas Basketball Academy in 1996 to teach shooting fundamentals and aggressive scoring techniques to basketball players of all levels. His vision is to change the dynamics of shooting on a national and global scale.

In 2007 Ed Incorporated the National Basketball Shooters Association. An organization made up of coaches who are great shooters in their own right with similar interests in promoting and educating the masses with how to be better free throw shooters and shooters in general. The whole focus is to improve scientific knowledge so players and coaches could understand that there is more to it than just shooting and hoping for success.

As part of this whole visionary program of pursuing shooting excellence, Ed invented the SMARTBALL. A ball that was designed to educate the masses with information inscribed on the ball and supported by an instructional poster and an instructional DVD. Specifically it has a design of a wide hand inscribed on the ball with multicolors and written captions on the ball explaining hand placement, finger pressure, triangular dynamics, joint responsibility and follow through. All of this is supported by other instructional material designed to give the shooter all the information s/he needs to master the shooting process. There are 7 patents related to this ball and it took 7years from concept to production.
