Eastern Green

Eastern Green is a mainly residential suburb in the far west of Coventry, England, and was formerly a village in Warwickshire. Its most western area is Upper Eastern Green and the eastern area is Lower Eastern Green., though residents generally do not distinguish between the two.

The sub-district of Mount Nod is located between Lower Eastern Green and the A45 Coventy to Birmingham dual-carriageway. The suburb of Tile Hill North is to the south and the districts of Allesley, Allesley Green and Whoberley lie to the north and east. To the west is the boundary of the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull, including the village of Berkswell.

A small brook runs from the west to the east through Eastern Green. For parts of its course the brook is set in a narrow band of green land set with bushes and trees.

National Express Coventry route 10 serves the area, with serves running to Coventry city centre, Spon End and Whoberley.

Famous quotes containing the words eastern and/or green:

I need not tell you of the inadequacy of the American shipping marine on the Pacific Coast.... For this reason it seems to me that there is no subject to which Congress can better devote its attention in the coming session than the passage of a bill which shall encourage our merchant marine in such a way as to establish American lines directly between New York and the eastern ports and South American ports, and both our Pacific Coast ports and the Orient and the Philippines.
    William Howard Taft (1857–1930)

Like the bee that now is blown,
    Honey-heavy on my hand,
    From his toppling tansy-throne
    In the green tempestuous land—
    Edmund Blunden (1896–1974)
