Spin-Off and Possible Reboot
The series finale hinted that a new show would evolve wherein Renee Palmer would travel through space seeking out other species that Earth can befriend. Pretty much the basis of Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek. But the proposed series never materialized.
In 2009 There was talk that the CBC network were intrested in rebooting the show. So far no word if such a project will happen.
