Dynamic Compression Plate - Limited Contact Dynamic Compression Plate

LCDCP or LC-DCP stands for Limited contact dynamic compression plate. It is a dynamic compression plate with limited contact to the underlying bone which supposedly minimizes disruption in periosteal capillary network and thus in the fracture zone. Also, it should have more uniform bending characters than ordinary DCP:s due to less inclination to bend in the area of holes in the plate.

Famous quotes containing the words limited, contact, dynamic, compression and/or plate:

There is, it seems to us,
At best, only a limited value
In the knowledge derived from experience....
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)

Words, words, words! They shut one off from the universe. Three quarters of the time one’s never in contact with things, only with the beastly words that stand for them.
    Aldous Huxley (1894–1963)

The nearer a conception comes towards finality, the nearer does the dynamic relation, out of which this concept has arisen, draw to a close. To know is to lose.
    —D.H. (David Herbert)

The triumphs of peace have been in some proximity to war. Whilst the hand was still familiar with the sword-hilt, whilst the habits of the camp were still visible in the port and complexion of the gentleman, his intellectual power culminated; the compression and tension of these stern conditions is a training for the finest and softest arts, and can rarely be compensated in tranquil times, except by some analogous vigor drawn from occupations as hardy as war.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Then he rang the bell and ordered a ham sandwich. When the maid placed the plate on the table, he deliberately looked away but as soon as the door had shut, he grabbed the sandwich with both hands, immediately soiled his fingers and chin with the hanging margin of fat and, grunting greedily, began to much.
    Vladimir Nabokov (1899–1977)
