Upgrades in Progress

Many important upgrades in the Dunsmuir park are in progress. These include the building of handicapping trout fishing access on the river, and connecting the Hedge Creek Falls Trail with a new paved pathway and pedestrian bridge over the river at Mossbrae Falls-arguably the most beautiful waterfall in California outside of Yosemite. Former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger took former President George W. Bush to see these falls. For now, access along Union Pacific Railroad tracks is closed. In the planning stage, a river viewing chamber structure, like the Taylor Creek stream viewing chamber at Lake Tahoe, is moving forward.

Famous quotes containing the word progress:

In this nation I see tens of millions of its citizens, a substantial part of its whole population, who at this very moment are denied the greater part of what the very lowest standards of today call the necessities of life. I see one third of a nation ill-housed, ill-clad, ill-nourished. The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much, it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little.
    Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945)
