History

The building that now called the Duncan MacMillan Nursing Home was originally built in 1948 as Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital. It was converted into a Nursing Home in 1983 after the a new wing was made into the Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

The History of the world is not the theatre of happiness. Periods of happiness are blank pages in it, for they are periods of harmony—periods when the antithesis is in abeyance.
    Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (1770–1831)

The history of mankind interests us only as it exhibits a steady gain of truth and right, in the incessant conflict which it records between the material and the moral nature.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

It takes a great deal of history to produce a little literature.
    Henry James (1843–1916)
