Duan Jingzhu - Campaigns and Death

Campaigns and Death

Duan Jingzhu becomes one of the scout leaders of Liangshan after the Grand Assembly. He follows the heroes on their campaigns against the Liao invaders and rebel forces after they have been granted amnesty by the emperor. During the Fang La campaign, Duan Jingzhu follows Ruan Xiaoqi and the Liangshan navy on a marine assault on the Qiantang River. Strong winds sweep the fleet far out into the open sea and the boats sink. Duan Jingzhu is not a good swimmer and he drowns eventually.

Famous quotes containing the words campaigns and/or death:

That food has always been, and will continue to be, the basis for one of our greater snobbisms does not explain the fact that the attitude toward the food choice of others is becoming more and more heatedly exclusive until it may well turn into one of those forms of bigotry against which gallant little committees are constantly planning campaigns in the cause of justice and decency.
    Cornelia Otis Skinner (1901–1979)

From the very nature of progress, all ages must be transitional. If they were not, the world would be at a stand-still and death would speedily ensue. It is one of the tamest of platitudes but it is always introduced by a flourish of trumpets.
    Gertrude Stein (1874–1946)
