Dry Creek (Sacramento River)

Dry Creek (formerly called Linda Creek) is a 15-mile (24 km) long stream in Placer County and Sacramento County, California, USA, tributary to the Sacramento River. Its watershed lies within the Sacramento Valley. Because suburban development borders much of its length, the stream is noted for its capacity to cause local flooding and as a recreational attraction.

Famous quotes containing the words dry and/or creek:

Better is a dry morsel with quiet than a house full of feasting with strife.
    Bible: Hebrew, Proverbs 17:1.

It might be seen by what tenure men held the earth. The smallest stream is mediterranean sea, a smaller ocean creek within the land, where men may steer by their farm bounds and cottage lights. Yet I have sometimes ventured as far as to the mouth of my Snug Harbor.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
