Dry Creek Railway Station - Passenger Services

Passenger Services

Some trains previously used the station as a terminus for local services and an interchange with Gawler Central services (usually for people who live between the Adelaide and Dry Creek stations), but from 28 April 2008 these services were discontinued, and now all services operate to Gawler or Gawler Central stations.

In December 2008 the go-ahead was given for the relocation of the TransAdelaide railcar depot from North Terrace to a new site east of the station. The depot will be the major maintenance and re-fuelling facility for the existing diesel rollingstock fleet, with capacity to store 70 railcars with over 11 kilometres of track. The depot has been designed to be converted to support new electric rollingstock once electrification work commences.

Famous quotes containing the words passenger and/or services:

Every American travelling in England gets his own individual sport out of the toy passenger and freight trains and the tiny locomotives, with their faint, indignant, tiny whistle. Especially in western England one wonders how the business of a nation can possibly be carried on by means so insufficient.
    Willa Cather (1876–1947)

Those services which the community will most readily pay for, it is most disagreeable to render.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
