Diagnosis

The following operational criteria have to be fulfilled for a DGS diagnosis:

  • Signs of Dysmorphophobia
  • Inability to mature and to progress in terms of psychic development
  • Utilization of at least two medical lifestyle offers (different areas required):
    1. Hair growth restorers (e.g., finasteride)
    2. Antiadiposita (e.g., orlistat)
    3. Medication against Erectile Dysfunction (e.g., Sildenafil)
    4. Mood uplifters (e.g. Fluoxetine)
    5. Cosmetic dermatology (e.g., laser resurfacing)
    6. Aesthetic surgery (e.g., face lifting liposuction)
