Governance
Donnycarney is part of the Dáil Éireann constituency of Dublin North–Central, whose three elected representatives are Richard Bruton of Fine Gael, elected in February 1982; Independent Finian McGrath, elected in 2002 and Aodhán Ó Ríordáin of Labour, elected in 2011. A high-profile former TD for the area for 35 years was the former Taoiseach, the late Charles Haughey, whose son Seán also held a seat from 1992 to 2011.
