Domlur has temple of historical significance in its heart.The Chokkanathaswamy Temple built by Cholas in the 10th Century stands as a testimony of Domlur's past. There is a stone inscription in front of the temple that reads about the history of the temple. It refers to the area as "Tombalur" after the tank that once existed in this place.
