Doll Domination

Doll Domination is the second studio album from girl group, The Pussycat Dolls. It was released from September 19, 2008 by Interscope Records. The album debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 80,000 copies in its first week. Initially reported, the album would be called To Those Who Wait but they would later go on to say in an interview that the album would now be named Doll Domination after receiving many requests from fans. Despite spawning the hit singles, the album underperformed selling considerably less than their previous album, PCD. Doll Domination was the first album released following the departure of group member Carmit Bachar, and was the last album released with the remaining group members from the original lineup, Ashley Roberts, Jessica Sutta, Melody Thornton, Kimberly Wyatt, and Nicole Scherzinger.

Doll Domination was preceded by the release of the Rodney Jerkins-produced lead single, "When I Grow Up" which respectively peaked in the top-ten in sixteen countries. The single was received favorably by contemporary music critics, many of whom highlighted it as a stand-out track from the album. A second single "Whatcha Think About That" only charted well in few European countries. After the poor commercial success of the previous single, "I Hate This Part" was released and proved to be more successful charting within the top-twenty in more than thirty countries. "Bottle Pop" was a fourth single and managed to peak at number one on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart. Another single, "Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)" was another commercial success for the group as it went to top the charts in more than seventeen countries. The last single, "Hush Hush" became the group's sixth number one on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart. The release caused controversy as the single was credited as "Pussycat Dolls featuring Nicole Scherzinger" which caused tension within the group and rumored that Scherzinger would be going solo. It managed to reach top-twenty in fifteen countries.

Throughout 2009 the album was reissued in several different forms including an EP (The Mini Collection), a mini-album (Doll Domination 2.0), a compilation (Doll Domination 3.0) and a full bonus track edition (Doll Domination + 2009 bonus tracks). The new editions spawned two further singles. The album has sold about 5 million copies worldwide.
