Djamel Ameziane - Life

Life

Ameziane was born in Algiers, Algeria. He fled Algeria in 1992 because of the Algerian Civil War and moved to Austria where he worked as a chef until 1995, when his work permit was denied. He then moved to Canada and applied for asylum, but his application was denied in 2000 and he moved to Afghanistan. After the United States of America invaded Afghanistan, he moved to Pakistan where he was captured by a local tribe and handed over to Pakistani authorities.
