History
Discipleship International started when Nathanael and Emmy LHeureux believed that God inspired them to move from Twinsburg, Ohio, where they were ministers at Freedom Center Church, to Atlanta to begin a church there. Nathanael and Emmy had been trained by Gordon Powlison, who is a Christian leader in the areas of Spiritual Warfare, Deliverance and Principalities and Powers. Nathanael and Emmy were prayer and youth leaders and continue to have those areas emphasized at Discipleship International.

Famous quotes containing the word history:
“The one duty we owe to history is to rewrite it.”
—Oscar Wilde (18541900)
“To care for the quarrels of the past, to identify oneself passionately with a cause that became, politically speaking, a losing cause with the birth of the modern world, is to experience a kind of straining against reality, a rebellious nonconformity that, again, is rare in America, where children are instructed in the virtues of the system they live under, as though history had achieved a happy ending in American civics.”
—Mary McCarthy (19121989)
“... in a history of spiritual rupture, a social compact built on fantasy and collective secrets, poetry becomes more necessary than ever: it keeps the underground aquifers flowing; it is the liquid voice that can wear through stone.”
—Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)
