Cathedral

The cathedral church of the diocese is the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, located in Cathedral Avenue Geraldton. Western Australia.

The cathedral building was built in 1964 to a design by architects McDonald and Whitaker. The brick modernist style building has a star shaped footprint and is said to resemble Coventry Cathedral in England.

Famous quotes containing the word cathedral:

There’s a certain Slant of light,
    Winter Afternoons—
    That oppresses, like the Heft
    Of Cathedral Tunes—
    Emily Dickinson (1830–1886)

That great Cathedral space which was childhood.
    Virginia Woolf (1882–1941)

Now, honestly: if a large group of ... demonstrators blocked the entrances to St. Patrick’s Cathedral every Sunday for years, making it impossible for worshipers to get inside the church without someone escorting them through screaming crowds, wouldn’t some judge rule that those protesters could keep protesting, but behind police lines and out of the doorways?
    Anna Quindlen (b. 1953)
