Famous quotes containing the words des, food and/or production:

When I was growing up I used to think that the best thing about coming from Des Moines was that it meant you didn’t come from anywhere else in Iowa. Bill Bryson (b. 1951)

From my experience with wild apples, I can understand that there may be reason for a savage’s preferring many kinds of food which the civilized man rejects. The former has the palate of an outdoor man. It takes a savage or wild taste to appreciate a wild fruit.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

The repossession by women of our bodies will bring far more essential change to human society than the seizing of the means of production by workers.
    Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)
