Dickens World - The Concept

The Concept

The complex was first conceived as far back as the 1970s: the original concept was the dream of late, Gerry O’Sullivan, and turned into a reality by Kevin Christie.

Following completion of the exterior of the building in the summer of 2006, attraction designers RMA Ltd set about the huge task of creating and fitting out this major attraction.

RMA Ltd worked closely with Dickens World and the Dickens Fellowship to ensure the production of authentic storylines, characters, atmospheric streets, courtyards and alleyways were true to the period.

Famous quotes containing the word concept:

The concept of a person is logically prior to that of an individual consciousness. The concept of a person is not to be analysed as that of an animated body or an embodied anima.
Sir Peter Frederick Strawson (b. 1919)

The heritage of the American Revolution is forgotten, and the American government, for better and for worse, has entered into the heritage of Europe as though it were its patrimony—unaware, alas, of the fact that Europe’s declining power was preceded and accompanied by political bankruptcy, the bankruptcy of the nation-state and its concept of sovereignty.
    Hannah Arendt (1906–1975)
