Dianthus gratianopolitanus - the Cheddar Pink - was chosen as the County flower of Somerset in 2002 following a poll by the wild flora conservation charity Plantlife. "Dianthus Japonicus" is the official flower of Hiratsuka City, Kanagawa Japan.
