Dennis James (musician)

Dennis James is an American musician who has played "a pivotal role in the international revival of silent films presented with period authentic live music." Primarily an organist, since 1971 he has presented historically informed live accompaniments for silent films, with piano, theatre organ, chamber ensemble and full symphony orchestras, both around the United States and internationally. He is also a noted performer on the musical glasses and the glass armonica, performing in New York at the Caramoor Festival and Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival (2011). He has also been active into the preservation and restoration of theater pipe organs, theremins, and a multitude of other historical musical instruments generally considered of marginal interest subject to the whims of enthusiasts.
