Demo/The Cat Empire is an independent 5-track instrumental demo released by The Cat Empire in 2000. It was never released for retail sale but was sold at performances in clubs and bars when The Cat Empire were just beginning their career. The demo consists of only three original Cat Empire musicians, Felix Riebl, Ollie McGill and Ryan Monro.
A copy was recently sold on online auction website eBay for approximately 350 AUD. It was rumoured that a roadie or close friend of the band was selling early demos on the 2009 UK tour.

Famous quotes containing the words cat and/or empire:
“There are many who say that a dog has his day,
And a cat has a number of lives;”
—Dylan Thomas (1914–1953)
“Ce corps qui s’appelait et qui s’appelle encore le saint empire romain n’était en aucune manière ni saint, ni romain, ni empire. This agglomeration which called itself and still calls itself the Holy Roman Empire was in no way holy, nor Roman, nor an empire.”
