Delta River

The Delta River (Saas Na’ in Ahtna) is a tributary of the Tanana River, which in turn is a tributary of the Yukon River in Alaska in the United States.

The river runs from the south to the north about 256 km (159 mi), being fed by numerous streams and 21 lakes. It meets the Tanana River near Big Delta, in a huge river delta, from which it received its name.

Famous quotes containing the word river:

    Hard by the lilied Nile I saw
    A duskish river dragon stretched along.
    The brown habergeon of his limbs enamelled
    With sanguine alamandines and rainy pearl:
    And on his back there lay a young one sleeping,
    No bigger than a mouse;
