Delaunay Triangulation - Relationship With The Voronoi Diagram

Relationship With The Voronoi Diagram

The Delaunay triangulation of a discrete point set P in general position corresponds to the dual graph of the Voronoi tessellation for P. Special cases include the existence of three points on a line and four points on circle.

  • The Delaunay triangulation with all the circumcircles and their centers (in red).

  • Connecting the centers of the circumcircles produces the Voronoi diagram (in red).

Famous quotes containing the words relationship with the, relationship with, relationship and/or diagram:

Some [adolescent] girls are depressed because they have lost their warm, open relationship with their parents. They have loved and been loved by people whom they now must betray to fit into peer culture. Furthermore, they are discouraged by peers from expressing sadness at the loss of family relationships—even to say they are sad is to admit weakness and dependency.
    Mary Pipher (20th century)

Christianity as an organized religion has not always had a harmonious relationship with the family. Unlike Judaism, it kept almost no rituals that took place in private homes. The esteem that monasticism and priestly celibacy enjoyed implied a denigration of marriage and parenthood.
Beatrice Gottlieb, U.S. historian. The Family in the Western World from the Black Death to the Industrial Age, ch. 12, Oxford University Press (1993)

Friendship is by its very nature freer of deceit than any other relationship we can know because it is the bond least affected by striving for power, physical pleasure, or material profit, most liberated from any oath of duty or of constancy.
Francine Du Plesssix Gray (20th century)

    “God’s fire upon the wane,
    A diagram hung there instead,
    More women born than men.”
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)
