Deer Tick (band) - Repertoire

Repertoire

While Deer Tick perform an eclectic mix of covers and original songs in their live shows, their recorded discography is almost exclusively made up of compositions by McCauley. War Elephant and Born on Flag Day each contain cover songs; "What Kind of Fool am I?" (Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley) and "These Old Shoes" (Chris Paddock) appear on War Elephant and "Goodnight, Irene" (Lead Belly) is included as an uncredited bonus track on Born on Flag Day. The More Fuel for the Fire EP contains the non-McCauley composition "Dance of Love" (Andrew Grant Tobiassen). The Divine Providence album has an uncredited bonus track titled "Mr. Cigarette," written by Paul Westerberg and sung to the music of "I've Been Working on the Railroad."

On a handful of occasions, Deer Tick has performed entire sets as Deervana, a Nirvana tribute band. In an effort to thwart internet piracy, McCauley recorded and released a rap album under the name Cream Ailment:Tornado of Hate with fellow Providence musicians Trip Dicks (Liz Isenberg) and Jack Prime. It was leaked onto the internet as "Divine Providence" before its official release date in 2011.

Famous quotes containing the word repertoire:

For good teaching rests neither in accumulating a shelfful of knowledge nor in developing a repertoire of skills. In the end, good teaching lies in a willingness to attend and care for what happens in our students, ourselves, and the space between us. Good teaching is a certain kind of stance, I think. It is a stance of receptivity, of attunement, of listening.
    Laurent A. Daloz (20th century)

The best joke-tellers are those who have the patience to wait for conversation to come around to the point where the jokes in their repertoire have application.
    Joseph Epstein (b. 1937)
