"Divine Providence"
Divine Providence is the fourth album released by Deer Tick. Moving away from the folk like roots of War Elephant, Divine Providence has louder, faster paced chord progression leading to a new more punk like sounds like that featured in "Let's all go to the bar." This album also features the first song sang in full by drummer Dennis Ryan, 'Clownin Around.' Clownin Around focuses on the dark life of "The clown killer" John Wayne Gacy.

Famous quotes containing the words divine and/or providence:
“Seeds, there are seeds enough which need only be stirred in with the soil where they lie, by an inspired voice or pen, to bear fruit of a divine flavor.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“No body can conceive that nature ever intended to throw away a Newton upon the occupations of a crown. It would have been a prodigality for which even the conduct of providence might have been arraigned, had he been by birth annexed to what was so far below him.”
—Thomas Jefferson (17431826)
