Simple Shoes, also known as Simple, was an American footwear brand originally founded by Eric Meyer, a native of Morro Bay, CA. Simple Shoes was known for its use of "green" sustainable materials such as bamboo, jute, hemp, recycled PETE, used tires and cork. Deckers purchased a 50% share of Simple Shoes Inc. for $10,000 in 1993. The following year Deckers acquired the remaining 50% interest in Simple for $1.5 million.
As of 2011, Simple Shoes announced that it would "cease distribution."

Famous quotes containing the words simple and/or shoes:
“I dont believe any more in democracy. But I cant believe in the old sort of aristocracy, either, nor can I wish it back, splendid as it was. What I believe in is the old Homeric aristocracy, when the grandeur was inside a man, and he lived in a simple wooden house.”
—D.H. (David Herbert)
“A milksop, one that never in his life
Felt so much cold as over shoes in snow.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
