Deal Or No Deal UK Special Episodes
The UK version of Deal or No Deal has broadcast since 31 October 2005. During this time, there have been many special episodes, usually themed to seasonal events such as Christmas, Halloween, Wimbledon and the Eurovision Song Contest.
In special episodes, there are one or more of the following kinds of changes:
- Cosmetic changes. These include different box colours from the usual red (for example, red with black ribbon for Banker's Birthday week 2008, glittery red for the 1,000th show countdown and Banker's Birthday Week 2009, orange for Halloween, black for Guy Fawkes Night, green for St. Patrick's Day, pink for Love Week 2008, Love Week 2009 and Mother's Day, yellow for Easter and Saint David's Day, blue for Father's Day and St. Andrew's Day and gold for New Year's Eve, the 500th show, the 1,000th show, Love Week 2010 and the 2,000th show) suitable music and sound effects, contestants and audience members dressing up festively and changes to the presenter's introduction at the beginning of the show.
- Changes to the prize values. These included the increases of the maximum prize to £500,000 for the 2006 Christmas specials and the second anniversary programme.
- Changes to the game mechanics. A common example is the use of an extra chance element partway through the game, which decides whether the contestant receives a bonus (such as extra prize money, holiday destination or an offer after every box in the final round) or a penalty (such as the Banker looking inside the contestant's boxes).

Famous quotes containing the words deal, special and/or episodes:
“This is really the common mentality of prisoners: they read with great attention all the articles that deal with illnesses and send away for treatises and be your own doctor or emergency treatments and end up by discovering that they have at least 300 or 400 illnesses, whose symptoms they are experiencing.”
—Antonio Gramsci (18911937)
“The experience and behaviour that gets labelled schizophrenic is a special strategy that a person invents in order to live in an unlivable situation.”
—R.D. (Ronald David)
“What is a novel if not a conviction of our fellow-mens existence strong enough to take upon itself a form of imagined life clearer than reality and whose accumulated verisimilitude of selected episodes puts to shame the pride of documentary history?”
—Joseph Conrad (18571924)
