Release
The album was not released in North America for some time because 4AD wanted to have a proper label deal and not license the artists individually. Modern English and Cocteau Twins were the exceptions at that time.
Some editions have Dead Can Dance's next release, the EP Garden of the Arcane Delights, added onto the end of the album.
