Degree Programs

The Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate of Science (AS) degrees are transfer degrees awarded without designation of major, but do follow curriculum transfer plans. These degrees indicate that a students has completed a course study essentially equivalent to the first two years of a baccalaureate degree. Usually, the AA degree is the best choice for students majoring in humanities, liberal arts, or the social sciences. The AS degree is usually the best option for students majoring in math, science, engineering, or business. Curriculum transfer plans are available which help a student complete course requirements towards higher education degrees (BA/BS) in the following areas:

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees are awarded in specific career occupational fields. The following degrees prepare students for immediate employment or may be transferred to baccalaureate programs at many four-year institutions:

Vocational Certificate Programs, a one or two year course of study, provide the student with the skills necessary to obtain entry level employment. Students with prior training or education may apply for credit or advanced study in an occupational program. Educational topics covered include job skill development and training as well as the necessary related technical information that is needed to enhance an individual's productivity on the job.
