David Wilhelm - Turning Point Solar

Turning Point Solar

In 2010, Wilhelm was a founding partner of New Harvest Ventures. In conjunction with Agile Energy, New Harvest Ventures is developing Turning Point Solar, a 49.9 megawatt solar photovoltaic power plant built in rural Southeastern Ohio. If operating today, Turning Point would be the eighth largest photovoltaic solar project in the world. The goal of Turning Point is to bring affordable clean energy to the citizens of Ohio while having a meaningful economic impact by creating sustainable jobs and utilizing an principally Ohio-sourced supply chain.

The magnitude of the orders associated with the project has triggered a leading European solar panel manufacturer to locate its North American manufacturing and distribution facilities in Ohio, creating more than 300 permanent jobs.

Famous quotes containing the words turning, point and/or solar:

The camera has an interest in turning history into spectacle, but none in reversing the process. At best, the picture leaves a vague blur in the observer’s mind; strong enough to send him into battle perhaps, but not to have him understand why he is going.
    Denis Donoghue (b. 1928)

You should go to picture-galleries and museums of sculpture to be acted upon, and not to express or try to form your own perfectly futile opinion. It makes no difference to you or the world what you may think of any work of art. That is not the question; the point is how it affects you. The picture is the judge of your capacity, not you of its excellence; the world has long ago passed its judgment upon it, and now it is for the work to estimate you.
    Anna C. Brackett (1836–1911)

The solar system has no anxiety about its reputation, and the credit of truth and honesty is as safe; nor have I any fear that a skeptical bias can be given by leaning hard on the sides of fate, of practical power, or of trade, which the doctrine of Faith cannot down-weigh.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
