David Smith, of Bellville, Texas, USA, was a participant in the second season of the Fox network's Joe Millionaire reality television show. Smith went to Italy and wooed 14 European women, pretending to be an $80,000,000 oil tycoon. He actually earned about $11,000 a year as a ranch hand.
In the end, David chose Linda, a lady from the Czech Republic over Cat, a woman from Germany. Smith won a 90-acre (360,000 m2) ranch in Texas, while Linda was given a check for $250,000.
The series did not get high ratings, and no other Joe Millionaire shows were produced.

He was employed with the surveyors on the line. Also he called on Daniel Webster in Boston, at the time of his Bunker Hill oration.”

“We grow with years more fragile in body, but morally stouter, and can throw off the chill of a bad conscience almost at once.”
