Performing Long Live Shows
Dave Matthews Band is often referred to as a "live band" because the live performances usually differ from those heard on their albums. Many songs are jammed out live, anywhere from 5–10 minutes longer than the studio version, however sometimes even longer. Currently, the band's longest live version of any song is a performance of "#41" which was played for over 32 minutes featuring Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, whereas the album version clocks in at just under seven minutes. Dave Matthews Band's performances usually last between 2 to 3 hours. Their longest shows to date are as follows:
