Rosser attended Union High School in New Jersey, where he played American football, both offensively and defensively. Rosser attended Fairleigh Dickinson University where he played football for a year, before deciding to focus on his academic studies and professional wrestling. He has cited Shawn Michaels and Ricky Steamboat as his favorite wrestlers.
