As the second largest school in Pitt County, DHC is able to offer a few classes with standard, honors, and AP levels. Furthermore, distance learning is also available to connect with other schools in Pitt County to offer more classes. The day is divided into four periods on block scheduling with ninety minute classes. Four lunches are served daily during third period, with fourth lunch being the longest. Famous quotes containing the word classes:
“Whats the greatest enemy of Christianity to-day? Frozen meat. In the past only members of the upper classes were thoroughly sceptical, despairing, negative. Why? Among other reasons, because they were the only people who could afford to eat too much meat. Now theres cheap Canterbury lamb and Argentine chilled beef. Even the poor can afford to poison themselves into complete scepticism and despair.”
—Aldous Huxley (18941963)
“Classes struggle, some classes triumph, others are eliminated. Such is history; such is the history of civilization for thousands of years.”
—Mao Zedong (18931976)
“I have no doubt but that the misery of the lower classes will be found to abate whenever the Government assumes a freer aspect and the laws favor a subdivision of Property.”
—James Madison (17511836)
