Cyprus Turkish Airlines - Industrial Action

Industrial Action

  • The staff of CTA staged a 6 hour wildcat strike on 7 April 2010 starting at 6am, and grounding all planes. Travellers to and from the TRNC were severely inconvenience and distressed. Communication from the airline to travellers about the delays was poor, and the strike action is expected to seriously dent the airlines already beleaguered reputation.

Famous quotes containing the words industrial and/or action:

A few ideas seem to be agreed upon. Help none but those who help themselves. Educate only at schools which provide in some form for industrial education. These two points should be insisted upon. Let the normal instruction be that men must earn their own living, and that by the labor of their hands as far as may be. This is the gospel of salvation for the colored man. Let the labor not be servile, but in manly occupations like that of the carpenter, the farmer, and the blacksmith.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)

Besides, our action on each other, good as well as evil, is so incidental and at random, that we can seldom hear the acknowledgments of any person who would thank us for a benefit, without some shame and humiliation. We can rarely strike a direct stroke, but must be content with an oblique one; we seldom have the satisfaction of yielding a direct benefit, which is directly received.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
