Stripped Down Live With Curt Smith

In August 2010, Smith debuted a live music web series, "Stripped Down Live With Curt Smith", which he produces along with his manager Arlene Wszalek and Streamin' Garage CEO Mike Rotman. Each episode is devoted to a single featured artist. The band or musician plays acoustic versions of their songs (the show is streamed live via UStream); Smith interviews them between sets, as well as taking viewer questions via Skype and the show's chat room. Smith's guests have included Hypnogaja, Carina Round Chris Pierce, Peter Himmelman, Common Rotation, Gary Jules, All Day Sucker, The Daylights, Matthew Sweet, The Fallen Stars, Nightmare & The Cat, Whiskey Saints, Fitz & The Tantrums and Friendly Indians. As of January 2011, Smith has said that he won't do another season of the series.

Famous quotes containing the words stripped down, stripped, live, curt and/or smith:

    Matisse makes a drawing, then he makes a copy of it. He recopies it five times, ten times, always clarifying the line. He’s convinced that the last, the most stripped down, is the best, the purest, the definitive one; and in fact, most of the time, it was the first. In drawing, nothing is better than the first attempt.
    Pablo Picasso (1881–1973)

    There is no alleviation for the sufferings of mankind except veracity of thought and of action, and the resolute facing of the world as it is when the garment of make-believe by which pious hands have hidden its uglier features is stripped off.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–1895)

    Don’t order any black things. Rejoice in his memory; and be radiant: leave grief to the children. Wear violet and purple.... Be patient with the poor people who will snivel: they don’t know; and they think they will live for ever, which makes death a division instead of a bond.
    George Bernard Shaw (1856–1950)

    Great is my envy of death whose curt hard sword
    Carried her whom I called my life away;
    Me he disdains, and mocks me from her eyes!
    Petrarch (1304–1374)

    I call her old. She has one family
    Whose claim is good to being settled here
    Before the era of colonization,
    And before that of exploration even.

    Robert Frost (1874–1963)
