Culture Warrior - Critical Reaction

Critical Reaction

Culture Warrior received a mixed critical reception. Gossip columnist Liz Smith praised O'Reilly's writing as "diamond bright, ready to pounce, and never at a loss for words", and even compares O'Reilly to George S. Patton.

Others were more critical, however; Publishers Weekly called it "more resentful and self-pitying than feisty." Elbert Ventura of progressive watchdog group Media Matters for America, a group that has a long history of being critical of O'Reilly, accused O'Reilly of making baseless claims, writing "It seems O'Reilly feels he is entitled to his own facts as well."

Famous quotes containing the words critical and/or reaction:

The disaster ... is not the money, although the money will be missed. The disaster is the disrespect—this belief that the arts are dispensable, that they’re not critical to a culture’s existence.
    Twyla Tharp (b. 1941)

    Sole and self-commanded works,
    Fears not undermining days,
    Grows by decays,
And, by the famous might that lurks
    In reaction and recoil,
Makes flames to freeze, and ice to boil.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
