Cue Stick - "Feel"

"Feel"

Different materials used for the manufacture of a cue have an effect on the feel of the cue and the response generated when played "feel". Variations in construction materials and manufacturing methods can alter the vibrations generated when playing. Because of this composite cues, with cores made of wood, tend to be used as break cues due to their stiffness and tendency to become damaged.

The rising use of synthetic materials is considered to be a product of sponsorship of professional players. However the weight savings which benefit other sports such as golf and tennis are not applicable to cue sports due to the weight regulations on sticks.

Famous quotes containing the word feel:

... most Southerners of my parents’ era were raised to feel that it wasn’t respectable to be rich. We felt that all patriotic Southerners had lost everything in defense of the South, and sufficient time hadn’t elapsed for respectable rebuilding of financial security in a war- impoverished region.
Sarah Patton Boyle, U.S. civil rights activist and author. The Desegregated Heart, part 1, ch. 1 (1962)

And I away in my opposite wood
Am touched by that unintimate light
And made feel less alone than I rightly should,
For traveler there could do me no good
Were I in trouble with night tonight.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)

Poets are the hierophants of an unapprehended inspiration; the mirrors of the gigantic shadows which futurity casts upon the present; the words which express what they understand not; the trumpets which sing to battle and feel not what they inspire; the influence which is moved not, but moves. Poets are the unacknowledged legislators of the world.
    Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792–1822)
