Cub Scouts (Australia)

Cub Scouts is the section of Scouts Australia for boys and girls aged 8–10½. They join what is called a pack, made up of no more than 20 children and 3-4 sixes.

The cub scout section is largely based around the Jungle Book story. Leaders are usually given names based on characters from the story, such as Akela, Bagheera or Baloo.

Famous quotes containing the word scouts:

    it pleaseth me when I see through the meadows
    The tents and pavilions set up, and great joy have I
    When I see o’er the campana knights armed and horses arrayed.

    And it pleaseth me when the scouts set in flight the folk with
    their goods;
    And it pleaseth me when I see coming together after them an host of
    armed men.
    Bertrans De Born (fl. 12th century)
